About Murray Landscapes

Murray Landscapes began long before I knew it would be a business. Growing up in Forgewood, Motherwell, private gardens were a rarity—until my Gran moved into a house with one of her own. What was a football pitch to me was a burden for her, so my Dad and I spent weekends keeping it in check. At 14, I suggested upgrading to a petrol lawnmower, cutting the work from four hours to one. My Dad joked, “You could start a business with this.” And that’s exactly what I did. Word spread, and soon I was maintaining neighbours’ gardens, turning a favour into a side hustle.

Life moved on—I played professional football, worked in construction, and kept landscaping on the side. But in 2009, redundancy pushed me to take the leap. I built Murray Landscapes from my bedroom with no financial backing, just determination. Now, we’re a multi-award-winning company with a full team, six vans, and a reputation for excellence. But for us, success isn’t just about growth—it’s about setting new standards in both domestic landscaping and commercial ground maintenance. The journey is just beginning.
